Temporary food establishment” means a food establishment that operates for a period of time not to exceed 21 days in one location, affiliated with and endorsed by a transitory fair, carnival, circus, festival, or public exhibition. Food establishments that operate in the same event location for more than 21 days per calendar year are not eligible for a temporary food establishment permit. Domestic yard sales and businesses such as auctions, flea markets, or farmers markets are not eligible for a temporary food establishment permit.
Temporary Food Establishments (TFE) (15A NCAC 18A .2651 – Definitions
To operate a Temporary Food Establishment (TFE), both the TFE Coordinator Application and individual TFE Vendor Applications must be submitted in full at least 15 days prior to the event.
TFE Coordinator Application
must include a complete list of participating vendors.

Each vendor must submit an application
$75 fee required per vendor
Applications submitted after the 15-day deadline will not be considered
Vendor applications submitted without coordinator approval will not be accepted

A GVPH staff member will contact you to collect payment by credit card.
Mail the completed packet with a check to the Environmental Health office in the county where your commissary is located.
Incomplete packets will delay processing. Please review the submission checklist before sending your application.

To submit a complete Plan Review Application for a Food Service Establishment, please ensure the following items are included:
